Summary

Digital-scratch is a library that does motion detection on vinyl turntable. With Digital-scratch and a drivable audio player, a DJ can mix his audio files using his regular turntables.

How does it work ?

You need to play a "timecoded" vinyl disc such as the FinalScratch vinyl disc. Then, instead of connecting your turntable to your mixer, connect it to the line input of a sound card. And finally, connect the sound card output to the mixer.

Digital-scratch library is an SDK (Software development Kit) that is able to analyze the input sound and get the current speed and direction of the vinyl disc. It is also able to get the needle position on the disc.
