Making a free remake of Pirates! is a complex task. Help is very welcome:

Help us in creating maps for the inter island travel. This requires no coding skills at all.

The game design needs to be improved. Prices need to be balanced, the difficulty needs to be adjusted and more external feedback on the game mechanics is needed.

Help with the historical background (when did which nation rise, what are correct historical specs for the ships, when were certain harbours built, which wars broke out at what time etc.)

If you are a native speaker of the English language spell checking would be very welcome.

We need improved graphics, such as sprites for the navigatable map etc.

We need music and improved sound effects.

There are several coding tasks needed to be done, varying from minor ones to biggies like land-to-sea-battles. Check the TODO for details.

Help in building binary RPM packages is welcome as well.
