This documentation section explains what are different items displayed by GCfilms.
Main window
Here is GCfilms main window (of course, there won't be so many information the first time it is launched).
On the left side, there is the movies list. To click on a movie will display its information on the right side. To double-click on a movie will open a window containing also its information, but they are then read-only.
Movie details
There are three tabs in the right side of the window. First one contains all movie information such as actors, director, synopsis and also a picture (which could be movie poster).
Second one looks like this:
The user can indicate whether a movie has been seen or not, a rating and which kind of format is used. To manage important collections, knowing where the movie has been placed can be really useful. This last value is a text field, but having an history. So previously used place can be easily used again.
Many editable lists follow and contains languages information.
Last field is to specify some extra comments.
Third tab is shown here:
Its use will be explained in Borrowings management section.
Toolbar
On top of the window, there is a toolbar. It can be used to have a quicker access to current features.
From left to right, there are buttons used for:
- Add a new movie
- Save current collection
- Change preferences
- Find movies
- Display all movies
- Show a random movie
- Play video associated to current movie
- Change display mode
Other sections in this documentation contain more information about these actions.
Displayed Information
It is possible to configure which fields are displayed in movie sheet. This is achieved using Displayed Information item in Settings menu. It opens this window:
All fields related to a movie are grouped by tabs. If associated check box is checked in, corresponding item will be shown. It will be hidden if it is not.
This only acts upon display. Information that are not shown are also stored in movies list.
