Cal3D problem on Debian and derivatives (including Ubuntu)

The Debian Cal3D package is quite oudated ; it is labelled as being Cal3D version '0.10' but it is actually a CVS 0.9 release.

If you encounter a Cal3D problem on Debian / Ubuntu, the best thing to do is to install a real Cal3D from source.
