OpenInput is licensed under the the LGPL license -- the GNU Lesser
General Public License version 2.1 (or later, at your option). You
can read the full license at this location:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt. There also a
HTML version
available.
If you've never heard about the LGPL before, here's a brief three
point summary of what you must do:
- Release any modifications to the OpenInput source back to the
community
- Pass on the source to OpenInput with all the copyrights intact
- Make it clear where you have customised it
Note: The above is a very very rough summary, and there's much more
to it than these three points, so please read the full license before
using OpenInput.
Using OpenInput in commercial projects
It is possible to use OpenInput in commercial products even without
infecting your propriatery code with the LGPL license. The rule
of thumb is that as long as you dynamically link the OpenInput
libraries, you're safe. However, do read the full license before using
OpenInput, thank you.
